Platinum Productions all began with a basic love of music. President, Phil Bulla has always had the music in him. He began as a young boy playing in brass bands with the Salvation Army. He was featured on I’ve Got a Secret a the age of nine. Phil grew and progressed into a professional musician and is a former trombonist from the big bands of Gerry Mulligan and Buddy Rich. Phil then moved from the stage to the studio in 1978 and began working for popular artists including Billy Joel, Michael Bolton and Whitney Houston. His work may be seen and heard on television shows produced by HBO, ABC, ESPN, USA Network and Disney. Phil has produced and engineered numerous recordings that have achieved Gold and Platinum status, and he has earned seven Grammy nominations and an Academy Award.
Platinum Productions works with many musicians from all genres of music. Some notable projects range from Maynard Ferguson’s last album to working with 2012 The Voice winner Jermaine Paul. Phil has produced and engineered hundreds of television and/or radio spots for such notable clients as AT&T, Coca-Cola, MCI, American Airlines, IBM, Kodak, McDonalds and Trojan. Mr. Bulla's numerous film credits include Straight Out of Brooklyn (HBO), Pet Sematary (Paramount Pictures), The Joe Louis Story (Xenon Entertainment), and Sweet Dreams, The Patsy Cline Story (HBO). Phil has received the Golden Cindy Award and numerous national recognitions. In addition, Mr. Bulla produces music used in industrial shows for corporations that include Intel, Microsoft, MCI, Century 21, Citibank and American Express.
